For nearly a quarter of a century Derlea Foods has been providing fresh, authentic Garlic, Ginger and Sun Dried Tomato products in convenient formats to Canadians. From the very beginning people recognized the high quality and authentic flavour associated with the Derlea brands and today many of these fine products are still the market leader.

It all began way back in 1984 when Salvatore Geraci and his wife, Mary decided to share his mothers old Sicilian secret family recipe for Garlic Spread which had been handed down from generation to generation. They wanted to use only fresh ingredients since that’s what really enhances the flavour of the food. Reaction to the Garlic Bread was so strong that Sam decided to bring it around to some local restaurants for them to try it with their customers. Soon afterwards it was apparent that Canadians were ready for our Garlic Spread.

From its humble beginnings as a husband and wife team based in Markham, Ontario Derlea Brand Foods has now grown to the point where we operate in a manufacturing facility in Durham, Ontario with over 50 employees.

Over the years Derlea has expanded its product offering to include other fine Garlic Products, Ginger, Chipotle and most recently Sun Dried Tomatoes. Whether you are eating out at your favorite fine dining restaurant, or enjoying a family meal at your local eatery chances are that Derlea’s ingredients are being used to prepare your favorite dish. The Geraci family also wanted to be sure they could provide these same products to people when they cook at home. So, today you will find our full line of Derlea products on the shelves of most Canadian supermarkets, gourmet and specialty shops. Our products can be found in the fresh produce, grocery and dairy sections of your favorite store – just ask your store manager where he keeps Derlea.
